Synopsis for “Dead on Arrival”
Death Stalker returns to take revenge on his arch-nemesis Daredevil. He almost succeeds until Captain America shows up to assist his old horn-headed friend.

Notes

  • This story appears out of continuity as Steve Rogers (Captain America) was assumed “dead” during this time frame and Bucky Barnes had assumed the mantle of Captain America.
  • It is also curious that Death Stalker did not refer to Daredevil by his given name Matt Murdock. Death Stalker had previously learned Daredevil’s true identity and normally referred to the hero as “Murdock” even creating a tombstone for him with his the name “Matt Murdock” inscribed

Review – Spider-Man: Homecoming

Review – Spider-Man: Homecoming

I have seen just about every Spidey movie produced and have experienced varying degrees of satisfaction and frustration. When I heard about the Sony/Marvel collaboration for this film, I felt a bit of relief, but was still unsure about the project, as a whole. But, I was willing to keep an open mind, because Marvel Cinematic was behind it. Let just say that this movie was everything that I hoped that it could be, and then some! From the casting to the costumes, I was not disappointed one bit.

The movie interjected the right amount and kind of humor for a Spider-Man movie with no detriment to the seriousness of the story as a whole. Plus, I feel like that this is the first time that we actually get a realistic depiction of what a learning curve Peter is experiencing as a new superhero. From being in the suburbs and not having something attach a web to, to miscalculating how much, or how little, he needs to swing from point A to point B, we see it all. Plus, the difficulties that go with having a secret identity! Speaking of, it was so good to have an intelligent villain. It didn’t take half the movie for Vulture to figure out who Spider-Man was, and he wasted no time in making it known, either. I liked that a lot!

The movie is filled with easter eggs that go all the way back to Captain America: The First Avenger and up to Captain America: Civil War and it does that extra bit to tie it all together. Plus, to finally see Damage Control was a nice touch, too!! This movie clocks in wll over two hours, but you will not feel it and please stick around for the end credit scenes…they was well worth it! So, I do highly recommend Spider-Man: Homecoming. It is ideal for the younger ones, too, if you’re thinking of making it a family outing.
