Mighty Marvel Geeks 136: Would You Rather With Ghost Rider

The Intrepid Trio assemble, yet again, to bring to you the good, the bad, and the ugly from the Marvel Universe. This was a light news week, but there were still news to be found. Mike kicked things off with an article about Marvel and it’s Monsters Unleashed line. There was plenty to be discussed with this bit of news, including how it ties to Classic Marvel. From there, Kylan joins in with a story about how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is teasing about the arrival of Ghost Rider to the new season. From there the guys discussed the possible repercussions of adding this character to the show, relating it back to the anti-RPG movement in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Mike then wraps up the news with a rather detailed article about why the MCU is beating DC on the big screen. Ultimately it boils down to something that you have heard the intrepid trio say time and again. With the news put to bed, Eric then hosted a mini game that he usually plays on one of his other podcasts but this one with a MMG twist…Would you Rather: Marvel Edition.

Mighty Marvel Geeks 135: It’s A Nutty Story

It is a long weekend and the rant quotient is high among the Intrepid Trio. The show kicks off with Eric covering the discontinuing of Marvel Ultimate alliance and Ultimate Alliance 2. The talk segues into what leads to these decisions and what it means for not just Marvel games, but your favorite Marvel shows. From there, Kylan picks up a story about the cancellation of one of his consistent Picks of the Week, David Walker’s Nighthawk. The guys discuss the social issues addressed in the book and the current climate played a role in the lack of sales for the critically acclaimed work. Agent Mike starts us off with the debunking of one rumor and knocking us over the head with some crazy news involving a Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster!! From there, Agent Kylan brings news from the streaming world about the new Runaways series on Hulu. Agent Eric weighs in with his unique perspective on both stories, bring up some valid points that could make you see these stories in a different light. Then, Mike turns it to the comic realm with a story about all of the variants being produced for the Star Wars: Darth Vader series finale. Between that and his news piece about Squirrel Girl’s graphic novel, we may all need to save up for next month’s haul!!
